People always ask me why I believe in the power of food, and the short answer is, I had to…there’s something about hearing the words cancer and not too much hope in the middle of your two-year-old daughter’s test results that makes you want to believe in something and find the answers. I was lucky, I found the answers, actually in the kitchen, and that’s where I have been for the past twenty-nine years discovering the power of food.
And I found out a lot while I was there. Like the right foods, the superfoods, can nourish, transform and even heal. Food at its best provides the vital energy for life, and the more powerful the foods, the more potent the benefits for our bodies and our minds.
The more I learned the more I fell in love with food. So much so, that today my counseling work is based on the concept of “using food first.” Meaning, I first look at food to be the energy, and the medicine, and the power, our body needs to function at an optimal level. It’s something I really believe in and I promise you, I will help a lot of people put the power back into their lives.
